About the Opportunity

Parkes Shire Council is looking for a full-time Jetpatcher Operator to join our Operations team

In this role you will primarily operate a Jetpatcher for the construction and maintenance of Council's infrastructure. You may be required to undertake a variety of other activities associated with civil construction, including but not limited to: 

  • Assist with set out of works
  • Traffic control
  • Operating other mobile plant within the scope of training and capability
  • Supervise site work and lead teams as required

About You

The successful applicant requires strong communication and teamwork skills. The nature of this position may require you to start work early and/or finish work late as work activities may be undertaken at outlying locations within the Shire. 

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • Current and maintained NSW Driver’s Licence - minimum Heavy Rigid (HR)
  • SafeWork NSW Construction induction (White Card)
  • Demonstrated work experience in the operation of mobile plant including, but not limited to jetpatcher operation.
  • Relevant experience in civil construction
  • Willingness to sign a Child Safe Code of Conduct

It will be highly favorable if you possess any of the following:

  • Certificate III in Civil Construction 
  • Traffic Control Qualifications: Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control plans
  • Competency certification in the operation of a jetpatcher and/or other relevant plant
  • Current First Aid Certificate

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment. 

The role has been evaluated as being Grade 8 of the Council's salary structure and offers a starting hourly rate circa $32 - $37 per hour (includes AWC allowance) (starting hourly rate depends on skills and experience) plus super and salary packaging options to increase your take-home pay.
