About the Opportunity
Are you looking for an exciting and challenging career opportunity that supports services to your community? Then look no further and join the Planning & Community Services team and use your well developed administration skills to support high level roles and functions within the department.
The Administration Officer - Planning and Community Services is responsible for providing direct personal administrative assistance to the Director Planning and Community Services and supports the Executive Manager Planning and Certification, the Manager Regulation and Building Compliance and the Land Use Planning Specialist. The role focuses on Environmental Health, Ranger Services, Regulation and Compliance functions.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative support to the Director Planning and Community Services and other areas within the Department.
- Lead and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for Planning and Community Services.
- Prepare accounts and maintain purchase order system.
- Administer and maintain cemetery records.
- Coordinate Council reports and Business Papers for the Department.
- Assist with public counter and other enquiries for the Department.
- Mentor the Business Support Officer and trainee roles as required.
- Other duties as required by Council

About You

To be successful in this position you will need to have:
- Certificate IV in Business or a related discipline
- High level computer skills in the Microsoft suite
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate in a tactful, professional, courteous and efficient manner
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to WHS
- Current and maintained NSW Driver's Licence

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Parkes Shire Council's policies and conditions of employment.
The role has been evaluated as being Grade 10 within Council's salary structure and offers a competitive salary ranging from circa $65,000 to $75,000 ($36 to $41 per hour) (starting salary depends on skills and experience) plus super and salary packaging options to increase your take-home pay.
